Gasly identifies positives following Alpine management upheaval

Pierre Gasly has seen a positive reaction at Alpine to the mass exodus of senior leadership just prior to the summer break.

Across the Hungarian and Belgian Grand Prix weekends, CEO Laurent Rossi was removed with Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer and Sporting Director Alan Permane also departing, with Szafnauer disagreeing with the desire to fast-track Alpine's progress.

Bruno Famin was appointed interim Team Principal as the search for Szafnauer's replacement continues.

On-track, Gasly scored third in the Belgian Sprint, before claiming a first Grand Prix podium with his new Alpine team in the Dutch Grand Prix.

Such a turnover of senior management in such a short space of time is extremely rare in F1, but Gasly says he has not seen heads drop at Enstone.

Gasly's positive

"With the changes, it can always go either way, people can receive it positively or negatively," Gasly told media including RacingNews365.

"It is out of my control, and coming back from the summer break, I really tried to assess the mood inside the team and try to understand from the mechanics' and the engineers' points of view as to how the change was received.

"To be fair, it's been positive and there have been promotions within the team, such as Rob Cherry from Chief Mechanic to Team Manager.

"There have been a couple of promotions and people have seen it as a good opportunity.

"I don't want to make any conclusions as it needs time, but I must say that the mood [within the team] is definitely up."
