Magnussen triggers early red flag in final Dutch GP practice

Kevin Magnussen crashed on the exit of the banked Turn 3 to trigger an early red flag in Dutch Grand Prix final practice.

In wet conditions at Zandvoort, Magnussen lost control of the Haas at the exit of the banked corner after using the high line.

The rear of the VF-23 stepped out, with the left-front wheel hitting the wall as Magnussen went in backwards.

The front-wing of the car was also heavily damaged in the accident - which is the second for Haas during the weekend following Nico Hulkenberg's crash during the first practice session at Turn 13.

World Champion and home favourite Max Verstappen was lucky not to join Magnussen having had a snap of oversteer at the same place on the track minutes before, with the Red Bull on top of the time sheets when the red flag was thrown with 10 minutes on the clock.

Team boss Guenther Steiner was less than impressed with the accident on an out-lap from the pits by Magnussen, stating that he was "pretty p***ed".

Haas had brought an upgraded front-wing to Zandvoort, but Hulkenberg's example sustained some damage in his accident, leaving the team with just two versions of the new design heading into Saturday.

Magnussen's was destroyed in his accident, with team boss Guenther Steiner less than impressed with Magnussen's off on an out-lap, stating that he was "pretty p***ed".
